I've graduated, now what?

I feel like I should update since much has happened in the last month.

Biggest thing, would be, graduating from UA. The grades are in and it's official (in my mind at least - the University is yet to verify my degree) - I have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama. Now, to just get that Master of Arts started....

I have moved back home for the summer. I am in the slow, but steady, process of unpacking and deciding what I will need for the summer or what will just go straight to Lubbock in August. And now that I have had a week off with nothing to do, I am in the process of finding a summer job. FYI, it's not going to hot. I got told twice today that "We're not hiring now, but you can fill out an application anyways." Well, thanks. That's great.

I did get some good news today though. Both parents either thought of or suggested that I stop by the Maxey House to see if they might have any volunteer or summer job opportunities. I hit the jackpot with volunteering too! One of the opportunities for volunteers has to do with Research and you help them go through either recent acquisitions or artifacts that are already in the house and verify their authenticity through court records and various other means. One of the things that they mentioned (especially after I told them my minor is in Art History) is that there are many pieces of artwork in the house that they don't know the history of, and that I would be working on that too. AHH!! :) This is just an amazing opportunity, especially for me, and right up my alley. I went up there because it would be a good idea to get any kind of experience in a museum before I start earning a MA in Museum Science, but this kind of opportunity is something that I would of never, ever expected to find in Paris. They told me that they would work out a schedule for me and get back to me by next week. So I'm super excited about this.

Idol now, so no more updates about my life. Ciao!

What an amazing opportunity!

Congrats on graduating! I know it won't be the same to go to campus way and not see your sensible face grinning through the generally chaotic fray :). Hehe. You'll be so very missed. But how exciting!
